Sailor MAAN Rosé 19
This rosè made from grenache grapes is a rosè purists ideal. Pale pink, with slight apricot hues and with a crisp, clean line of acidity. It is great right there. But wait, there's more... with flavours of red apple, boysenberry and a hint of sherbert, it's a delicious wine. And after spending a few months on lees in old oak, with continual stirring of the barrels, it's developed a lovely weight and a touch of mid-palate texture to help round out the mouthfeel.

Wine wank aside, all these pieces add up to an alarmingly smashable rosè, that is amazing by itself, or a great match for vietnamese/thai food as well as a simple cheese plate. Lookout.

Visually: A brilliant, pale pink reminiscent of fairy floss.

Nose: Floral notes, of rose-hip, and jasmine. Tropical fruit such as guava and mango, as well as ripe red cherries. And the compulsory strawberries and cream...

Palate: Made for easy-drinking. It’s soft and smashable, with enough acid to keep it light and fresh. Yet its little bit of texture softens its edges, making it slide down the gullet in record time.

Production: Made from 96% Grenache, and 4% Pinot Noir, this rosè was barrel fermented and left on solids (with the occasional stir [Batonage]) to give it a creamy texture. The hint of Pinot we’ve used, is to basically lift the fruit flavour of the wine and make it leap out of the glass.

Cellaring potential: Don't. Drink it now
